Germany vs Saudi Arabia

Germany couldn't have hoped of getting a better start to their 2002 World Cup campaign, even if the eight goals scored in Sapporo were against lowly Saudi Arabia.

Germany vs Ireland

Germany paid the price for thinking the game was already won and suffering a lack of concentration at the back, as Robbie Keane slipped through Linke and Ramelow to smash a drive past Ollie Kahn's left ear.

Cameroon vs Germany

With 16 bookings and two sending-offs, we were lucky that this game still had two teams on the pitch at the final whistle.

Knockout Stage

Germany vs Paraguay (Second Round)

Paraguay showed urgency in the last minute but Germany had already won the cat and mouse game, for a place in the Quarter-final.

Germany vs United States (Quarter-final)

Germany hung on, thanks to one goal and one magnificent goalkeeper; Oliver Kahn.

Germany vs South Korea (Semi-final)

Michael Ballack put his country in the 2002 World Cup Final, four minutes after he knew he would miss the next game himself.

Germany vs Brazil - 2002 World Cup Final

Time ran out for Germany but at least they're sure of a place in the next World Cup finals, Germany 2006, as hosts; while Brazil, as holders, will have to qualify.
