No Goals in Durban

Portugal vs Brazil in Durban.

Brazil have already qualified so the game is all about the number one spot.

The first real effort on goal didn't come until the half-hour mark, when Nilmar caught Portugal napping. Eduardo was alert though and managed to push the ball onto the woodwork.

Portugal broke forward immediately then Tiago claimd a penalty for a push in the Brazilian area. Benito Archundia disagreed and dealt his second yellow card to a Portugal player for trying to tell him what to do.

No goals but seven yellow cards as, apart from a couple of good moments, the game turned a little niggly.

Half-time: 0:0

On the hour, Lucio excellent tackle in the Brazilian penalty area almost let in Raul Meireles for Portugal.

The referee must have left his notebook in the changing room as he didn't produce any cards in the second-half.

In the last minutes, Eduardo was once again sharp to save a deflected shot from Ramires.

The point is enough for Portugal to join Brazil in the next round, but the crowd booed the players off the pitch.
